This is the story of Charlotte West, doctor in charge of an army of seven thousand artificial soldiers. While they are hurtling through space on their way to a faraway war, it’s clear something is wrong with the soldiers, and it affects all of them. They fail to listen, they question orders, they gang up against each other. Artificial soldiers should not be doing any of those things.

Charlotte’s Army was a quick, enjoyable read. It rounds out the world I’ve read about in Shifting Reality nicely (although I want to stress again that it completely stands alone). I highly recommend it to science fiction fans and anyone interested in giving the genre a go.–Tsana Dolichva, Australian book reviewer

Charlotte’s Army is a good introduction into the ISF-Allion world, which includes the novels Shifting Reality and Shifting Infinity as well as Juno Rising and a number of shorter works.
